Starting June 4th and running until the end of August

Regina Central Library and Downtown Regina are hosting Chess in the Park on Tuesdays from 11am – 1pm (or so) in the beautiful Victoria Park. Tuesday June 4th was the kick off. About 40 people were there and 20 or so played at least one game!
Once the kids are done school this would be a great chance for them to get outside and play chess so please bring/send them down if you have the time!

At the Cathedral Neighborhood Centre, 13th Ave & Retallack St., Regina.

Daily Monday to Friday 930am - 12noon.

Friday is a WIND UP Sponsored Tournament With Prizes & Pizza Party.

All levels and strengths welcome and will be accommodated from Beginner (Raw Rookies to Novices) to Advanced (Tournament Players to Provincial Champs).

We will cover everything from How do the pieces move? to The nuts & bolts of the King’s Gambit! 

Daily Itinerary

1. Instruction on The Rules of Chess, Strategy, Tactics, Opening, Middle, & Endgame Theory.
2. Head to Head Game Play - Test out what you have learned.
3. The Lighter Side of Chess - IE: Tag Team Chess, Musical Chair Chess, Anti-Chess, Chess Relay Races, Atomic Chess, Siamese Chess, Replacement Chess, Rifle Chess, Centaur Chess, and more.

THE GOAL is to have FUN in a Chess Nuts Environment, AND, to get a better understanding & ability to play.
