An RCC Open Chess Tournament

When: Saturday, August 23rd 2014.
Where: Hill Tower II, 12th Ave & Scarth St, Regina.
Format: 5 Round Swiss Style (no knockouts - guaranteed 5 games)
Time Controls: Active: 30 mins/player – 1 Hour Maximum per game.

Sections

PRO – chess for blood – with a little fun mixed in
AMATEUR – chess for fun – with a little competitiveness mixed in
JUNIOR – kids only – might be bloody, might be fun

PLEASE NOTE

Sections will run only if there are sufficient players to warrant the section, otherwise, everyone will play in ONE GROUP

ENTRY FEE

There is currently no cost to play, however, there may be a small fee, portions of which will go to charity. EF info will be updated as soon as it is finalized.

Bughouse is fast, furious and a whole lot of fun.

If you play chess and would like to add a little excitement to your game – grab yourself a partner and come to Science Rendezvous to play some bughouse with us!

No cost and there will be Prizes.

Tournament will be run during Science Rendezvous on May 10^th.

That’s right – we will have an audience!
We will be located in the hallway of the classroom building.

·      open tournament – no registration fee

·      kids from 4 – 90 are welcome

·      register as a team or a single player (we will find you a partner)

·      your team will play 4  - 8 games

·      there are a few special bughouse rules you need to know

·      game time is 5 minutes per player

·      tournament check-in and warm up starts at 11 am
