Chess Club in Library

Chess increases brain power (such as analytic, concentration, memory),  literacy skills, and also this club gives platform for chess lovers for social get together. 

If you are new to Chess, learn how to play chess or build on your skills with an international rated chess player, Pramod Dahale, member of Saskatchewan Scholastic Chess Association (SSCA). 

This club is offered by partnership of SSCA and Central Children's Library, Regina.

This club is for families with kids of age 6 and above. All skills welcome.

Why chess ? 
Briefly, significant factors: 
1) Chess creates a pattern or thinking system that, when used faithfully, breeds success.
2) Chess provides a far greater quantity of problems for practice.
3) The chess playing students had become accustomed to looking for more and different alternatives, which resulted in higher scores in fluency and originality.
4) Chess offers immediate punishments and rewards for problem solving.
