2019 Canadian Youth Chess Championship, July 6-10, Travelodge Regina




Description

The Canadian Youth Chess Championship is Canada's largest youth chess event! 

The players are split into 12 sections based on age and gender. 
The top 3 finishers in each section are sponsored and 
qualified to become official representatives for:

1) World Youth Chess Championship (WYCC)
2) Pan American Youth Chess Championship
3) North American Youth Chess Championship

Players are sectioned by age, with eligibility calculated as of January 1st.
To determine your category, please refer to the below table:

U-12: 2007, 2008
U-10: 2009, 2010
U-08: 2011 et après / 2011 and later

Entry Fee

$249.99

+ $25 June 1, 2019

Registration Closes June 15, 2019

$150 of each entry is remitted back to the Chess Federation of Canada 
to sponsor the winners of this event.

Time Controls

90' / end + 30" increment starting from move one.
(Game in 90 minutes + 30s increment from move one.)

Qualification

Normally, CYCC participants qualify by placing better than half their peers 
in a qualifying tournament. However, there are other qualification methods.
