5-7 rounds depending on section size

Chess tournament rules apply

Chess clocks used for grades 3-12

Game time is 25 minutes + 5 second increment per move

Tournament check-in and fee payment start at 9:30 a.m.

Tournament starts at 10:00 a.m. (ends around 4:00 p.m.)

Payment:

On-line registration is $15 + $5 SSCA membership  (Preferred)

Onsite Registration is $20 + $5 SSCA membership  (Payable at the door)

Saskatchewan Provincial Chess Challenge will be held on Sunday, April.21, 2024, since this is the second provincial competition after Covid, we require all players must play in one of the qualifications to get familiar with the process, time control, rules, and etc. 

Meanwhile, according to the requirement from the Chess Federation of Canada, any players who would like to attend 2024 Canadian Youth Chess Championship (July 9-12th, 2024, Laval, QC) need to be qualified before application. So, players who gain 2.5 points in each age group (U8, U10, U12, U14, U16, U18) will be qualified for CYCC. As a benefit for young players, CFC will give free membership to the players of this tournament.
